Water main break forces several street closures and diverts traffic on Jacksonville's Northbank near the Main Street Bridge

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A broken water main forced, the closure of the intersection of Bay and Ocean Saturday.

The northbound inside lane of the Main Street Bridge was also closed as well as the outside lane that exits onto Newnan Street. Traffic was diverted westbound on Bay St to Newnan Street.

According to a JEA spokesperson the 10-inch water pipe failed for an unknown reason.

Clean-up and repair should lasted until early Sunday morning.

JEA tells Action News that no one in the immediate area experienced water loss.
