ORLANDO, Fla. -- SeaWorld Orlando is caring for a young female manatee rescued near Jacksonville.

The manatee was rescued from the Trout River by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and Jacksonville Zoo Team and then transported to SeaWorld Orlando on Sunday.

The young manatee, about 6.5 feet long and 355 pounds, was rescued due to cold stress and secondary infections. The manatee is in guarded condition and will be monitored closely during the next few days.
