Man accused of attacking a Florida State Trooper arrested
ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. -- The day long manhunt is now over for the man accused of attacking a Florida State Trooper.
It happened Saturday night in Gainesville along Interstate 75 near MM 376.
Police say an officer pulled over Trevor Francis Flum after seeing him driving recklessly. While attempting to conduct field sobriety test, police say Flum fled into a wooded area off of Interstate 75. The trooper ran after Flum on foot. That's when detectives say Flum hit the trooper in the head with a tree branch, knocking him to the ground. Investigators say the trooper shot at Flum, but didn't hit him.
On Sunday, just after 9:00 a.m. deputy's located Flum near a gas station off I-75 in Micanopy. He was arrested and taken to the Alachua County Jail for booking. Charges are pending.
