Kristen has slowly made her way from the snow belt to the sunny beaches. She joined the Action News team in September of 2010 as a Reporter/Anchor.
Her career is her passion, and she has been able to cover some incredible things along the way. From sitting in the anchor chair as the devastating news unfolded of 29 West Virginia coal miners being killed in an underground mine explosion, to flying in a C-130 with the National Guard after Hurricane Katrina, to interviewing missing teen Natalee Halloway’s mother, Kristen doesn’t take a single moment for granted and is honored to bring her community the news that’s important.
Before coming to Action News, Kristen worked as Weekend Anchor/Reporter at WOWK-TV in Charleston, WV. But she got her start as a Reporter and Weather Forecaster at WMFD-TV in Mansfield, Ohio.
Kristen’s a proud graduate of Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism. While in college, she interned at WEWS in Cleveland -- her hometown -- where she truly discovered her passion for storytelling.
When she’s not out digging around for the big story, Kristen enjoys working out at the gym, spending time with friends and family and cheering on her favorite teams: the Cleveland Browns, Cavs and Indians. A die-hard fan, don’t be surprised if you see her sporting her Cleveland gear during their respective seasons! But while she may be far from home, she certainly doesn’t mind trading in a winter hat for a pair of sunglasses.
Kristen’s always looking for great story ideas. Feel free to drop her a line at
