Afternoon Storms Return... "Safest" Weather Cities... Ca. Lightning Storms
Time for t'storms to return. A weak cool front combined with high humidity & typical sea breezes will ignite afternoon showers & storms Fri. which will continue through the holiday weekend. Storms will be heavy with local downpours, lightning & gusty winds. The stronger storms will generally move north to south while weaker showers will move west to east (due to low level flow). Expect similar conditions Sat.-Sun. but there will be periods of dry weather & temps. will be hot & humid. There will still be storms Labor Day afternoon but more widely scattered as temps. jump into the low to mid 90s. Get ready to sweat it out this weekend & -- remember -- if you hear thunder or see lightning, get indoors & wait at least 30 min. since the last clap of thunder before venturing back outdoors.
