Better than nothing at all....some rain for the First Coast.  Amounts neared a half inch Mon. over parts of Putnam & Clay Co. in Fl.  Some drizzle & a few showers will linger Tue. making for a damp, cool day but rain amounts will be light.
The rest of the week will be milder again with some overnight fog.  A light northeasterly flow will keep beaches cooler.  Looks like a pretty strong cold front moves into the area this weekend ushering in some colder air that could result in a light inland frost &/or freeze early next week.

An interesting study from NASA regarding the El Nino winter of 2009-'10 vs. the winter of 1999-2000.  It's long been known that El Nino winters are typically wet across the Eastern & Southeast U.S.  The study showed the increased sea surface temps. might have contributed to greater precip. in winter '09-'10 (the map below shows the comparison).  It must be emphasized
that it's difficult to precisely simulate the 2 seasons plus these are models -- not perfect by any means.  But the results are interesting & encouraging & indeed show an increase in the winter precip. of '09-'10 offering hope that forecast models might become more useful in the future for forecasting -- in particular -- precip. during El Nino & maybe La Nina events.  Click here for the story.
