A remarkable temp. drop Tue. with the afternoon high of 66 just 1 degree from the avg. low for the date & the coolest high temps. since 57 on Feb. 26th!  Some fog & low clouds early Wed. will clear out quickly & temps. will rebound to 80+ but low humidity will keep it very pleasant.  For the first time in months, there is no significant rain in the 7-day forecast.  There will be a few coastal showers by Sun. into early next week but rain looks widely scattered & light.

Unmannedd "Global Hawk" has completed its research over the Atlantic Basin for the hurricane season after studying "Nadine" 5 different times during Sept.   Click here for the info. from NASA.

NOAA has issued an update on the possible developing El Nino in the Pacific.  Seems the water temps. have continued to increase slightly but upper level winds & convection are not particularly indicative of an El Nino.  A majority of the forecast models still show at least weak El Nino conditions throught the winter.  Click here for the complete update.

A couple of nice autumn First Alert photos.  The first is from Victor Jackson.  Victor lives in Colee Cove, Fl. but snapped this photo near Allenstown, NH in the Bear Brook National Forest.  The second photo is from Mike Cornell & was snapped Sept. 24th during an early season snowfall at Breckenridge, Co.
