We're stuck in a weather rut that will continue through Sat: dreary, damp, mostly cloudy, cool, breezy.  Conditions will be especially harsh at area beaches with rough seas & surf & a high rip current risk.

Our Jax N.W.S. has published a table of the first/last freeze of the season for the local area -- see below.  Most areas away from the coast, intracoastal & right along the St. Johns River would typically experience their first freeze within the next 2-4 weeks.  At the moment, there are no indications of real cold nighttime temps. anytime soon.  Though the current pattern is cool, lots of clouds & onshore northeast winds will keep temps. at night above freezing despite afternoon highs only in the 50s & 60s.

As I posted Mon., a total solar eclipse was visible over a small portion of NE Australia Tue.  NASA has posted a nice HD video, click ** here **:
13–14 November 2012 (UTC).... Begins in local time on November 14 west of the date line over northern Australia,
ends in local time on November 13 east of the date line near the western South American coast  (It crosses the International Date Line so "dates" are 13-14).

Fighting lung cancer.  The story below was emailed to me by a viewer:
Tonight I am writing about another type of hurricane that kills people. ( Lung Cancer). It is a slow and horrible death.

Our friend died of lung cancer at the age of 31. She did not smoke and lead a healthy life style.

She enjoyed the HamJam and the cooking competitions.

Elizabeth (my wife) and I would always give her a turkey to enjoy. ( she was too frail to cook).

After her passing in January 7, 2010, we decide to smoke turkeys in her honor.

This is our third year! It has grown from selling 65 turkeys to over 181!

All the proceeds will go to the American Lung Association.

I really appreciate your time. I am donating over 200 hours( 2 weeks)  to pickup, clean, prepare, smoke and package these turkeys.

I am just trying to get the word out.
