Warm 80-degree days Wed. & Thu. will be the first such temps. for the First Coast since Jan. 10-11. A cold front will then move into the area Fri. propelled by a powerful low pressure system just north of the Great Lakes. This front will bring afternoon showers Fri. but not before another very mild day with highs in the mid 70s to around 80 but leveling off then falling some later in the day.
The front will stall near the First Coast over the weekend with weak upper level weather disturbances moving nearby which will add up to a mostly cloudy weekend with periods of showers. It doesn't look like a washout for the weekend & temps. should stay relatively mild but there will be plenty of cloud cover & at least some rain from time to time. The location of this front will be critical for when & how much rain there might -- or might not -- be.
A second stronger upper level disturbance will move into the Eastern U.S. early next week & will carve a deeper trough that will usher in another round of cold temps. for much of the country east of the Rockies. By next week, the avg. high temp. in Jax is 70 degrees.
