The heavy rain is finally over.  Amounts since Fri. have been impressive:
JIA...4.44" ...more than all the rain combined since Oct. 5th(!)....the 3.20" Mon. was the highest 24-hour total since 5.2" June 26th ("Debby")...Feb. will be the first month with above avg. rainfall since June.
Waycross...6.65"
Glen St. Mary...4.75"
Just east of Dinsmore...5.49"
Ft. White...3.75"
Neptune Beach...3.41"
San Marco...3.15"
SE Ga. was especially hard hit & the photo below was snapped by Action News reporter Ryan Smith in Brantley Co.  Action News videographer Jerry Palovick took the 2nd photo -- at tree on a house in Lake City.  The third photo by Bill Stickel from Starke, Fl. is a gallon jug he put outside where the rain was rolling off the roof.  You can see it is near 3/4 full & Bill said there was standing water all over his yard.

So now we turn our attention to the polar air that will invade over the weekend.  The cold air will sort of "bleed" into the area vs. a sharp cold front.  We'll see a series of troughs or cold fronts that will eventually lead to near freezing temps. Sun. morning & subfreezing early Mon.  We will probably have enough wind & clouds Sat. night to keep temps. from realizing their full potential.  Yet readings will dip to near &/or below 32 west of I-95.  Light winds, dry air & mostly clear skies should lead to Sun. night being the coldest night with 20s possible inland....and just above freezing at the coast.

How 'bout 2 feet of snow??!!  Larry Faulkner sent the photo below:
