Back in the saddle of a nice week of family time vacation.  From caves to Lincoln's boyhood home to professional baseball & golf -- not bad, huh?!

So how 'bout some weather "talk".  This week will be very warm & humid with daily afternoon showers & storms that will produce heavy downpours & gusty winds.  While not everyone will get rain each day this week, all areas should get at least some rain between Mon. & Fri.  The photo below is from Andrew Oldham & shows lightning in Atlantic Beach last week.

The Jags' first preseason game will be Fri. night.  It'll be a very warm & muggy night, but it looks like most of the storms should be gone by kickoff - 7:30pm.

The tropics sort of came alive during the last 5 days or so.  I "sort of" because the named storms have been struggling against dry mid & upper level air & quite a bit of shear.  "Florence" moving into the Central Atlantic has already dissipated, little more than a low cloud swirl surviving a mere 48 hours.  So reaching our 6th named storm by early Aug. made it the third fastest to 6 storms (1936 & 2005).  Next storm's name is "Helene", & we may very well see "Helene" in the Atlantic next week.  Click here for "Talking the Tropics With Mike".

Our July #'s:
