Our especially stormy weather pattern is about to "pounce". An unseasonably strong -- & far to the south -- upper level trough of low pressure will push to the Gulf Coast over the weekend into early next week. Such a pattern will mean not if but when (how much) rain & storms will affect the First Coast. A round of storms should develop Fri., perhaps as early as midday. Then several round of rain & storms will roll across the area over the weekend into early next week. There will be heavy rain at times along with the possibility for a few severe storms. Storms may even occur overnight & in the morning. Given a series of upper level disturbances that will pass through or near the First Coast + relatively cool temps. aloft, we could see storms that produce hail in addition to strong winds. So keep an eye to the
sky the next several days.
