Question isn't if it'll rain Thu. but how much & when exactly.
First things first -- we'll have fog to deal with early Wed., some of it dense.  The fog will quickly lift though & leave us with another beautiful day -- lots of sun & temps. in the 70s inland, a little cooler at the beaches.

Then it's the storm that's been hammering the W. Coast.  Severe weather hit the L.A. & San Diego areas Tue.  A tornado WARNING was in effect for the city of San Diego about 3pm EST.  Here are a few severe reports:

Storms will continue to cross the U.S. producing an ice storm in the midwest Wed....a potential blizzard this weekend in the Rockies & Northern Plains...severe storms & tornadoes from Texas to the Ohio Valley this weekend...more flooding & highs winds in Ca....& occasionally active weather for the First Coast too.

Our first round of "weather" will arrive later Wed. night as warm, humid air floods northward out of the Gulf of Mexico & is "acted" upon by an upper level disturbance out ahead of the main system.  I'm not too concerned about severe weather with this activity though there could be some small hail.  The biggest issue could be flooding.  Most of these storms will be near & north of I-10 with the heaviest rain through the day Thu. over SE Ga. extending southwest to near Lake City to the Big Bend area.  Showers & a few storms will then spread south & east Thu. afternoon-night with areas of heavy rain likely along with the possibility of a few strong to severe storms.  The biggest risk with the storms
looks to be strong, possibly damaging winds but an isolated tornado is not out of the question as well as some hail...& additional localized flooding.

I visited Mandarin Oaks Elementary Tue. -- K-4th grade.  Photo below is the "can crusher" experiment (turn an Al can with some boiling water upside down & into a bowl of cold water) with student Michael helping out....next pic is with a few kids & a teacher.
