JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- I love reading online news. I read more than 30 online newspapers on a daily basis.

I've noticed more and more of those newspapers want to get in my wallet. The reason is that people go from reading the paper newspaper that they pay for to reading it
online. This is where they don't pay.

Every time someone moves from the print to online, the newspaper loses more and more money. So they are getting to the point where they can't afford to have any staff. So newspapers are going behind paywalls.

A lot of times people are going to say that is fine. I am just not going to read it anymore.

More and more are going to a "freemium" model, al
most like apps for your smartphone. This is where you get so much content for free, get hooked on it and then you've got to pay.

It will be your choice in the future. Do you want just what you can read for free, or are you willing to open up your wallet?
