JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- You hear these reports if you think you're having a child, about how unbelievably expensive it is to raise a child from birth into adulthood. You hear these numbers and you think, "Where in the world did these come from?"

Quite often depending on who does the research, it tends to be about a quarter million dollars from birth to a child. You think, "How am I going to pay for that?"

Well somehow, we got through because one thing is one of the expenses we have, when we don't have children under our roofs, we don't have anymore once we have a child in the house. We don't spend as much time out and things like that.

A
report in the Atlantic considered the big driver of cost to you about raising a child. It looked over the last 50 years.

The big change over the last half century is
what it costs for a higher education. You know that area as you as a parent and your child have to be so careful about is what college costs. One thing you should learn to love to keep that cost down is community college.
