JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- For years and years, a lot of people weren't buying music. They were stealing.
Well, the last time for the first time in forever, the amount of stolen music was down. The amount of purchased music was up.
Well, one thing people have moved on to is stealing movies, TV shows, that kind of thing. Now it's pretty easy for you to be tracked, especially back to your home computer through your internet service provider.
There were these cases that involved the music industry that got so much publicity about going after a woman because her kid was downloading illegally and trying to hit her up for huge fines and penalties and all that. Nobody really won in that thing.
So now they've come up with a new plan. They know who's downloading illegal movies and content. So now you're going to get a letter that tells you, 'Hey, we know you're doing it so stop doing it."
You're going to get warning after warning, and if you don't heed those warnings, you're going to be shut down. No fine, you just won't be able to go on the internet anymore.
