JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- An initial look at three players or units whose performance were up and three who were down in the Jaguars 41-3 loss to the Bears.
UP
1. Bryan Anger
Punter has a big day limiting returning Devin Hester to 8 yards on 4 returns. Finishes with a 48.5 yard average on 6 punts with 2 downed inside the 20 yard line.
2. Eugene Monroe
Tackle plays a strong game against a difficult matchup in Julius Peppers. Little to no pressure from his side. Only negative, had one penalty for holding on a running play.
3. Cecil Shorts
Wide receiver finishes with 2 receptions on 3 targets for 43 yards. Both catches went for first downs.
DOWN
1. Mike Mularkey
Head Coach has no answers in second half to anything the Bears were doing. With 12:40 left in game and down by 3 scores gives up on winning by punting at own 49.
2. Maurice Jones-Drew
Misses a key block on third down on first drive of game, which leads to a three and out. Also drops two passes with one being intercepted for a touchdown.
3. Defense
Had a good first half but the wheels came off in the second. Gave up 501 total yards and allowed the Bears to convert 59% of their third down attempts.
