JACKSONVILLE, Fla.--Gus Bradley says Chad Henne will get the start for now, but would not give him the job permanently. Henne will play Sunday at home when the Jags host San Diego. Blaine Gabbert who's out with a hamstring injury will begin throwing on the sideline during practice on Wednesday.
"Chad did some nice things against the Broncos," said Coach Bradley. Henne threw for more yards than Peyton Manning with his 303 yard effort. He also hooked up with Justin Blackmon 14 times for 190 of those yards.
Blackmon is a bit beat up after Sunday, he'll most likely miss practice Wednesday but Bradley says he'll be fine for Sunday. Cecil Shorts the third has a shoulder sprain but could be back for the game with San Diego as well.
Overall, while the Jags didn't get the results they wanted Sunday they did play better. "We had more positive clips during 'tell the truth Monday' than wev'e had all season," said Bradley.
