JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Jaguars claim veteran defensive end Jason Babin off waivers, he was released by the Philadelphia Eagles yesterday.

Babin played the last two season in Philadelphia. The 32 year old recorded 36 sacks since 2010, and has been named to the Pro Bowl twice. Babin has five and a half sacks in 2012 to go along with two forced fumbles.

The nine year pro will help bolster the Jaguars defensive line which ranks tied for last in sacks with 13.

The Jaguars will be responsible for 1.69 million dollars of Babin's remaining salary in 2012. He signed a five year deal worth 28 million dollars last season. If Babin stays with the Jags beyond this year they will inherit that contract.
