Jags fall 35-32 to the Bills in OT
ORCHARD PARK, NY. --The Jacksonville Jaguars fell behind 17-nothing to the Buffalo Bills before scoring 32 straight points to take a double digit lead, but the back end of the roster couldn't hold it. Buffalo wins preseason game number 3 by a 35-32 score in overtime.
David Garrard and the first team offense struggled out of the gate but Garrard got going with a four yard touchdown run. Garrard had a couple of passes dropped and the most effective play was two pass interference calls on passes to Jason Hill. Garrard finished 11 of 21 for 106 yards and QB rating of 66.6.
Blaine Gabbert had some good moments. A touchdown pass to Dujuan Harris but also an interception on a ball he forced. Gabbert's numbers were 6 of 13 for 52 yards for a QB rating of 50.8.
Afterwards Jack Del Rio said that the Jags started slow and didn't finish. Eugene Monroe had a couple of nice blocks on the night and says that it is important that the Jags first team offense was able to put together three scoring drives in a row after the slow start.
Paul Posluszny had six tackles in his return trip to Buffalo where he was a team captain. Poz was booed by the Buffalo crowd laughing it off telling Brent Martineau that he expected it because he is no longer a Bill.
Jacksonville is 1-2 in the preseason with the St. Louis Rams here next week on Thursday night at Everbank Field. Mike Sims-Walker is now a Ram and will probably get the "Poz" treatment from Jags fans.
