JACKSONVILLE, Fla.--The Jaguars battled the Broncos and the oddsmakers today losing to Denver but covering the biggest points spread in NFL history in a 35-19 Denver win.
Chad Henne threw for more yards than Peyton Manning, but his 303 yard effort wasn't enough as the Jags couldn't outscore the future hall of famer. Still after falling behind 14-0 to start the game, Jacksonville was only down by two at the half 14-12. Denver came out and drove the football down the field to start the second half and took a 21-12 lead.
Justin Blackmon in just his second game back with the club had a career day, 14 catches for 190 yards for the second year player. The Jags did have an inability to run the football today averaging less than 3 yards a carry. Maurice Jones-Drew had 71 yards on 21 carries.
Jacksonville falls to 0-6 for the first time in team history and will return home next Sunday to host the San Diego Chargers, a week from tomorrow the team will depart for a week long trip to London, England.
