JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - At his weekly news conference, Head Coach Mike Mularkey announced the Jaguars captains for 2012.
The group is highlighted by second year quarterback Blaine Gabbert, who has shown major improvement in the preseason. This is the first time Gabbert has been chosen to be a captain by his teammates. The other offensive captain is 12th year center Brad Meester.
On defense, linebackers Daryl Smith and Paul Posluszny will wear the captain "C's" while the special teams are represented by two-time Pro Bowler Montell Owens.
