JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert suffered a right ankle sprain late in practice on Monday.

Gabbert dropped back to pass and got his feet tangled up with lineman Uche Nwaneri. The QB fell to the ground quickly and then got up and was helped off the field with trainers.

Gabbert walked to the Jaguars cool zone under his own power, but was carted to the locker room.

The Jaguars have a day off on Tuesday and will resume practice on the field Wednesday.

Gabbert will undergo tests the next couple of days.

Gabbert and quarterback Chad Henne are locked on a competition for the starting job.

He is not looking like our "starting quarterback" at all.

I'm tired of football already, and the season hasn't even started!

Injured earlier and earlier... why play a single game when he can get paid to sit on IR? I hope he's gone next season and all we had to do was give Tebow a chance :( UGH!!! Another Jaguar who should've NEVER been drafted!

The more things change, the more they remain the same. Injuries for the Jaguars is what most of us have come to expect, that and players being arrested.
