Jacksonville, Fla. – Daryl Smith is uncertain if he will return to the Jacksonville Jaguars this season.
The 31-year-old had an injury last season, and couldn't play until the last two games of 2012.
Smith says he is hopeful he can continue his NFL career here in Jacksonville.
"Jacksonville is my home," Smith said. "I know it's a business, but I'd really love to stay."
The Jaguars' defense was ranked 6th in the NFL when he played in 2011. Due to his injury and his absence, the Jags' defense was one of the worst in the NFL last year.
Smith's productivity and age could determine whether or not he will return.
