Jaguars head west for a date with the Oakland Raiders
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The (1-4) Jacksonville Jaguars are en route to Oakland to take on the (1-4) Raiders in the first game after the bye week. The Jaguars are hoping to tap into road success from earlier games in Minneapolis and Indianapolis. The team is (1-1) on the road and (0-3) at home so maybe there is something about eating and sleeping in a hotel that agrees with this football team.
Daryl Smith was looking forward to making his first appearance of the season, but the injured groin will keep him out for another game. The defense will also be missing safety Dwight Lowery who has an injured ankle. His backfield buddy Dawan Landry is listed as probable with a knee injury. George Selvie is also probable. That means the defensive front could get some help in the pass rush with another fresh body. Austen Lane returned three weeks ago and had a sack against the Bears.
Historically, these West Coast games don't go so well for the Jaguars. They are trying to break a string of four straight losses out there. It's a new coach and a new team trying to find a spark. We will have the latest from Oakland here on actionnewsjax.com and the Jaguars official station all weekend long. Thanks for clicking in. See you from Oakland.
