Knighton joins Del Rio in Denver
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Jaguars lost their first free agent to another team when defensive tackle Terrance Knighton signed with the Denver Broncos on Wednesday night.
Knighton joins former Jaguars head coach and current Broncos defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio in the Mile High City.
"It's official. I've decided to become a Denver Bronco," tweeted Knighton. "Very excited to be a part of this organization."
Knighton lost his starting job last season to C.J. Mosely despite coming into camp as lean as he had ever been in the NFL. The big man was injured in the offseason when he was struck by a bottle in the eye at a Jacksonville club.
"Congratulations to my homie Terrance Knighton signing with Denver," said Jags offensive lineman Uche Nwaneri on twitter. "All the best."
The Jaguars could be out of the Derek Cox picture as well. Cox's agent telling Action Sports that his client will visit three other NFL teams.
"Nothing has been decided," said David Sullivan on Wednesday evening. "I'm not currently engaged with the Jags."
