Jacksonville's Children: Clayton
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - This isn't the first time we've interviewed Clayton, but we do hope it's our last for our Jacksonville's Children segment. We first met Clayton a couple of years ago, he's 16 now. A failed adoption was a big blow for Clayton, but he's dusted himself off and he's ready to try again.
"I get to have a family that will treat me with respect and as their child", says Clayton.
This teen is just two years away from aging out of the foster care system. His sister is already on her own. He's proud of her for making such an impressive transition into adulthood. She's apparently in college and maintaining an apartment on her own. While he's rooting her on, Clayton is hoping for a different new beginning for himself. He's still holding out hope, that the right family will show up at the right time and offering him a place in their home.
