Jacksonville, Fla. - Several years ago Damion was ushered inside family court along side his biological mother. He didn't understand what was going on at the time, he was barely in pre-school, but there were some words said that he did understand.

"The judge asked her if she would be able to take care of me. My mom said she couldn't do it anymore", Damion tells me.

Damion's mother gave up her parental rights to her son. There are have been no visits or phone calls and his father is no where to be found. This 16-year old has carried the weight of his parents decision long enough. Damion is hoping to be adopted.

"When I was smaller I felt like no one ever cared for me, but once I got into the adoption system I started seeing how people wanted to take care of their children".

Damion is hoping for a family that includes a dad or at least an older brother. He feels he has a lot to learn about growing up, and a positive male infulence will help.
