JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- 12-year old Jovawn was born in Jamaica, but Jacksonville is now his home. A home, where he hopes to find a family.
"I came home from school, they were packing my stuff and I was thinking, what is going on?"
Jovawn moved to Jacksonville only a year ago with family members. He says his mother and mother didn't have the time or money to properly raise him. However, things wouldn't get much better when he moved to the United States. His family released him to foster care.
"I was thinking, where am I going to go? I was trying not to cry," Jovawn told me.
Jovawn has come to learn home is with the people who love and accept you and he's hoping to have that connection again. He's excited about the idea of adoption.
"I want to meet an awesome family, have brothers and sisters," he says.
An awesome adoption, to an awesome family, in the awesome new home of Jacksonville.
