I first met Reshonda when she was 12. It's been five years since I've seen her. She was quick to remind me, she's still waiting for her forever family.
"I want to be in a family where , when I get older I can go back for anything", she says.
Reshonda needs a guiding hand, she's considered special needs. Her caseworkers tell me, with the right care and attention she'll continue to flourish. This teen has practiced patience and perseverance her whole life, and she's not giving up now.
"I'm not going to give up hope,” she tells me.
Hope that someone will find her special, worthy of love and worthy of something she's been deprived of her whole life-- a family.
