Kathleen Andrews, a single parent, has just experienced a life-changing event: her children have finally left the nest and she has completed her task of paying for tuition and a wedding. Her biggest challenge now is to control and eliminate debt, while increasing savings for the ‘inconveniences’ that come into everyday life – like broken refrigerators and worn out washing machines. She also wants to build her retirement savings.
