We are done with our 1st month in the Vystar Money Makeover and I truly cannot believe how much of a difference one month with our coach has made! I have always written down what days our bills were due on this huge desk calendar and every month I would just cringe looking at it. I would sit down at the computer and start paying bills, grumbling and being in a horrible mood the entire time I did it. Over the course of May as bills started coming in I, as usual, would put them on the calendar. I was sitting at the desk the other night looking at the calendar and must have looked quite puzzled because Matt asked me what was wrong. I said, “It doesn’t look right? It looks like we are missing stuff”. I double-checked my list and nothing was missing. For the first time in probably 5 years, I felt relieved! Now let me clarify something, we did come into this program with a good amount of credit card debt but 85% of our debt was from large unexpected expenses such as $12,000 to replace an entire wall in our house due to water damage. It isn’t like I have a closet full of shoes or that Matt has this awesome tricked out man cave, or the kids have some room stocked floor to ceiling with all the latest and greatest toys…..although we all can dream can’t we?!? Regardless of where the debt came from, we got it, we own it, and finally are dealing with it and winning for once. I am already starting to see such a difference in balances and feel like I have finally gotten off the credit card debt treadmill, always running and never getting anywhere. I know that there is someone out there reading this that is going through the same thing. I totally urge you to go into your local Vystar branch and tell them you want to be a part of the money makeover because it is not too late. You just have to take that drive into the branch and they will totally help you figure out the best way to get you on the right track! YES, even after only one month, it has truly changed our household for the better and I cannot wait to see where will we will be at the end of this contest. However, even after this contest officially ends for us as far as meeting with the awesome people that make up this contest, the PROGRAM will never end for us! I have heard in the dieting community a great slogan…”this is not a diet, it’s a lifestyle change.” Well that is exactly how the Schilling family feels about this program….it is not a temporary fix, it a complete life changing event!
