JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Cleotas Southern American Cuisine is located on University Boulevard North in Jacksonville. We met General Manager Brenda Titus as soon as we walked in the door. We asked her if we could see inside the kitchen and she immediately said, "Sure!".
Titus was more than happy to show us into the kitchen where she says all the violations were fixed on the spot.
Here's a look at what we found in the state report:
14 violations - 7 high priority including:
Temperature issues with collard greens, crab cakes, mac and cheese and chicken breasts.
An employee touching food with their bare hands.
A dish machine not sanitizing properly.
The health inspector noted all the high priority violations were fixed immediately.
Titus told us, "It was actually done before she left." Titus says for a restaurant open for less than a year, Cleotas is keeping it clean and the customers keep coming back for more. The favorites on the menu are the shrimp and grits and the smothered pork chop.
Mojo Smokehouse on Town Center Boulevard in Orange Park and The Shiek #1 on Main Street in Jacksonville rounded out the top of the list this week for the restaurants with the most critical violations.
Congratulations to the following restaurants for having no health violations. They get our clean plate award of the week!
