Jacksonville, Fla. - At
Fire Wok in Orange Park, we tried over and over again to have the owner show us the kitchen. At first, she said no and tried to explain that her English wasn't very good. When asked to go inside and go through her inspection report with her line by line she said, "No, no, no... You cannot come in!" She called a friend to have him translate for her. After a brief conversation with him she asked us to come back in a day or so. We told her translator, "She should be able to show her customers that this restaurant is clean." After the phone call - we still were not allowed to take a look inside the kitchen but the owner insists she has fixed everything since the inspector came to visit. He found 16 critical violations including:
CONTAINERS OF FLOUR USED FOR BREADING RAW CHICKEN NOT BEING THROWN OUT AT THE END OF THE DAY
EMPLOYEES NOT WASHING THEIR HANDS BEFORE MAKING FOOD
LIVE FLIES IN THE KITCHEN
At
Bukkets Baha in Jacksonville the inspector also found 16 critical violations this week including:
DISH MACHINE SANITIZER NOT AT THE PROPER STRENGTH
BUILD UP OF SLIME IN THE ICE MACHINE
AND ENCRUSTED MATERIAL ON THE CAN OPENER
Sam's Soul Food Kitchen in Jacksonville received 15 critical violations for:
TEMPERATURE ABUSE - A STOP SALE WAS ISSUED BY THE INSPECTOR FOR HAZARDOUS FOOD
DIRTY FREEZER - BITS OF RAW MEAT WERE FOUND ON THE BOTTOM
AND A MOLDY BUILDUP INSIDE THE ICE MACHINE
A long list of clean plate awards this week! Congrats to these restaurants for getting perfect inspections.
