Jacksonville, FLA. - Hot Wok is located on 103rd Street in a shopping complex not far from Interstate 295. The restaurant has been owned by Fa Lu since 2006. Hot Wok is in hot water with the state health inspector for 16 critical violations including eggs with cracked and broken shells, a container of beef on the floor next to chemicals, chicken draining on cardboard in the kitchen and no manager on duty. You can see that full report by clicking here. The manager was also out during our visit. The chashier refused to call him for us saying he lived to far away and that he was busy. She then told us to shut off the camera. Fa Lu did have something to say... he called us with this statement.

"I am so embarrassed to have so many violations. It's inexcusable. We got everything cleaned up and we have more cleaning to do. Next time we won't have so many problems."

Here are the other restaurants at the top of the list this week for critical violations.

At Take A Break Café on Southpoint Drive there were 14 critical violations including no proof of employee training provided. You can see that report here.

At Mario's of Neptune on 3rd street in Neptune Beach, there were also 14 critical violations including problems with the employee handwash sink. There was no hand soap or paper towels and it was being used to store dirty dishes. You can see that report here.

The following restaurants had zero health violations and get our clean plate award of the week.

Florida Times Union
Springhill Suites: Airport Ct.
Arbys: 13696 Beach Blvd
Polar Bear Ice Cream: Tapestry Park Circle
Tootie Greens Grill: Roosevelt Blvd

it figures someone would report on here they got sick from hot wok's food. ever think that you may have gotten a flu bug from someone? instead of blaming the restaurant? seems to me other people still eat there and only one person is complaining about this, while everyone else who has eaten there remain healthy and poison free. were that the case, there would be alot more people on here complaining. it is, after all, flu season.

I ate at Hot Wok last night (sweet and sour pork) and woke up this morning very ill. I have been throwing up for 8 hours now and still no sign of feeling better. I wish I had seen this report before we got our food last night!
