Very Quiet in the Atlantic...storm in the E. Pacific.....

Not even much in the way of clouds over the SW Atlantic, Gulf & Caribbean...

Notice the gray, "popcorn"-like look to clouds east of the Caribbean & in the Central & Eastern Atlantic  below.  Such imagery is indicative of stable mid & upper level air & generally is not conducive for tropical development.  So it looks like we'll stay quiet in the Atlantic Basin for some time.  However, conditions should change the first couple weeks of July.

Meanwhile.. a tropical storm "Cosme" has developed in the E. Pacific southeast of the Baja & west/southwest of the lower Mexican coast.  This storm will remain over open water moving W/NW over the E. Pacific.
