Unsettled weather -- areas of showers & t'storms -- continue to slowly increase from the SW Atlantic through the N. & W. Caribbean into the SW Gulf.  This trend should continue & it still looks like possible tropical development during the upcoming week or so over the Western Caribbean &/or SW Gulf of Mexico.  The GFS has pretty steadily indicated development & -- the last couple days -- has focused on the far W./SW Gulf.  The European has been less emphatic as a whole but does show at least a surge of tropical moisture & -- occasionally -- weak surface low development.  Eventual movement will be dictated by an upper level ridge of high pressure that will become established across parts of the Southern & Eastern U.S. during the next 4-7 days.

Meanwhile....in the E. Pacific...."Carlotta" is weakening over the Southwest Mexico coast & will bring rough seas & surf to Acapulco & might get close enough to bring some heavy rain.  This development might be a hint of what's to come in the Caribbean &/or Gulf.
