Nice & Clear in the Atlantic..."Cosme" in the E. Pacific.....

Very little in the way of clouds over the SW Atlantic, Gulf & Caribbean...

Notice the gray, "popcorn"-like look to clouds east of the Lesser Antilles below.  Such imagery is indicative of stable mid & upper level air & generally is not conducive for tropical development.  So it looks like we'll stay quiet in the Atlantic Basin for a while yet.  However, conditions should change the first couple weeks of July.  Global forecast models have generally backed off on development next week, but I still suspect we'll have a more active Atlantic tropical basin next week & the week after.

Meanwhile.. "Cosme" is well south of the Baja & well west/southwest of the lower Mexican coast.  This storm will remain over open water moving W/NW over the E. Pacific reaching cooler water late in the week which will induce weakening.
