Weak Wave in E. Caribbean.....

Several weak tropical waves are moving west or west/northwest from the E. Caribbean across the Central Atlantic.  No development is expected in the short term as satellite imagery & upper level data indicates a good deal shear -- mostly from a west or southwesterly direction across a good part of the Atlantic Basin.  Conditions might become more favorable -- gradually -- over the next couple weeks.

Meanwhile.. A disturbance off the coast of Mexico in the far E. Pacific is moving northwest with the potential for development.

In the "off-season", the National Hurricane Center works in refining its forecasting, research as well as re-analyzing data from previous seasons.  The latter is a long work in progress that will continue for many year until they're caught up to the present.  The NHC has just completed the re-analysis of 1941-1945 -- click ** here ** to view the PDF document.
