WSB-TV) One person is dead in the wake of a tornado in Adairsville Wednesday morning, Bartow County Emergency Management Center said.
Emergency management said it has set up a triage command post on Cherry Street and Highway 41.
Channel 2's Ross Cavitt said a tornado formed directly in front of him as he arrived in Adairsville. He said at least one home was leveled and cars were flipped over, including a tractor-trailer.
Interstate 75 is closed in both directions at exit 306 in Adairsville due to trees in the road.
Most of Georgia is under a tornado watch til 8 p.m.

Severe Weather Team 2 meteorologist David Chandley said he recieved work from law enforcement in Polk County that they had spotted a funnel cloud near Cave Springs.
Reports of damage began to stream in late Wednesday morning. The Floyd County emergency manager told Channel 2 someone was trapped inside a home on Dogwood Street due to a fallen tree.
Most of Georgia is under a tornado watch until 1 p.m.
Much of Georgia is also under a high wind warning, with gusts up to 50 mph possible in north Georgia, and up to 35 mph in metro Atlanta.
A flood watch went into effect at 5 a.m. Wednesday for some of the far north Georgia counties along with a high wind warning for some of the higher elevation in the north Georgia mountains.
