SALT SPRINGS, Fla. -- Florida Highway Patrol and other agencies are monitoring several roads near a burning brush fire.

Due to heavy smoke, the Marion County Sheriff's Office hasclosed Highway 19, from State Road 40 to the Salt Springs community.

At last count, 1900 acres have been destroyed.

Marion County officials say the fire is about 80% contained.

24 structures, including 13 homes, have been destroyed.

Marion County Sheriff's Office says smoke, at times, has been causing poor visibility on the roads in the area.

Those who were evacuated have been allowed to return to their home.

Highway 19 will be closed until Monday morning.
