GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Two people were injured in a house fire that started Tuesday off of Northwest 29th Terrace in Gainesville.

Gainesville Fire Rescue reported that the front of a home was destroyed when flames erupted in the front of the residence.

Firefighters were able to knock down the fire within 10 minutes of arrival.

Both a 13-year-old and his father were transported to UF Health Shands Gainesville with injuries.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The American Red Cross is assisting the family with living arrangements.
