COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. -- A disturbance at the Santa Fe Bar near High Springs led to two patrons being shot and killed, according to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.

Witnesses report that the altercation occurred in the parking lot of the bar early Saturday morning and by the time law enforcement arrived the shooter had already fled.

Deputies identified the victims as 38-year-old Dennis Lamont Smith and 24-year-old Erik Antonio Akins. Both were Fort White residents

Evidence from the scene has led investigators to label Fort White resident Willie J. Wingfield III, 21, as a person of interest.

Law enforcement has been unable to find Wingfield, and authorities are asking for the public's help in locating him.

Anyone who believes they may have information on the investigation or knows the whereabouts of Wingfield is asked to contact the Columbia County Sheriff's Office at 386-719-2005. Anonymous tips may also be made through Crime Stoppers of Columbia County by calling 386-754-7099.
