JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Zevulon Alvin Palmer, 24, was sentenced to life in prison Friday morning for the murder of 18-year-old Tevin Riggins.

In 2010, Palmer and Riggins fought while playing cards, and again at a different home in the area.

Palmer pulled a gun and fired five shots - hitting Riggins three times. Riggins was rushed to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

Palmer was charged with Murder in the First Degree.
