JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- One man is dead and two others are in the hospital Tuesday morning after a shooting on the Westside.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is looking into what sparked the deadly shooting. They believe there was some kind of altercation between the three victims.
"We don't know that of all three persons that all three are victims," Sgt. Dan Janson said. "There is an outside chance that maybe all three were involved in an altercation with each other, but I can't say that definitively at this point."
Detectives report the man who died is 24-year-old Anton White.
Action News spoke to White's sister Shantel Walker. She said she got the call from a family member that White had been shot, but by the time she got to West Chase apartments, White had died.
"I left him an hour before all this happened, I just left them," Walker said. "They kissed my son and that was the last time I saw him."
Walker told Action News her younger brother was another one of the victims. She said he was shot in the leg, but is doing ok.Police said the victims are all in their early 20's. One of the two surviving victims sustained life-threatening injuries. The other is able to speak with police.
