5 boaters hurt in Black Creek crash
CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -- Five people, including a 6-year-old child, went to the hospital after a boat crash on Black Creek on Tuesday.
The boaters told investigators with the Florida Fish & Wildlife that they were trying to get out of bad weather.
They were on their way to the Knights Boat Ramp near U.S. 17 bridge when it veered to the right.
The boat slammed into the shoreline and a group of trees before coming to rest some 25-30 feet into the woods.
Three other people were in the boat but not hurt.
Black Creek is where two teenagers died in a boating crash in 2011.
