JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The son of a Jacksonville pastor who lost part of his hands in an accident at an airline hangar
is now back home. Five-year-old Ben Bowersox and his family arrived home to Craig Airport Saturday after eight weeks of recovering at Duke University Hospital. Dozens of family, friends and church members were on-hand to welcome him home.
"Our group wanted to come out and show support. We didn't expect to interact with him at all. It's just a blessing to see him come home. It's an answer to a lot of prayers," says church member
Ben, the son of Steve Bowersox, the executive pastor at First Baptist Church, was hurt in May
while playing near a retractable hangar door at a Westside field
He suffered several broken bones in his arms and hands and severed four fingers.
He was flown to Duke University and underwent several surgeries.
