based on what Donald Smith did they should all be rounded up and locked up since there is not the proper manpower to monitor these menaces. If they don't want to be rounded up then they should undergo a chemical procedure to shut it down!

oh and I obtained the same information right there on the FDLE website. It didn't take much to realize there where multiple "predators" living at 9768 New Berlin road when I pulled a search of my zip code. not very big news that you obtained the information. Why don't you follow these people living at the address and keep us posted on their whereabouts when they go mobile!

Here is the problem. Many "sex offenders" are not trouble. There are people who have to register because they were 18 or 19 and had sex with a person 16 or 17 yrs old. We do not know the WHOLE story. It could say sex with a minor and be as simple as 18 yo having relations with a 17 yo and the parents press charges. Then there could be REAL issues 20+ yo having indecent liberties with young children. We are not given all the details. Granted, Donald Smith was WRONG in every aspect but that does not mean that every person registered did what he has done. There really needs to be more information regarding what was done. Serial Rapist? Most def be reported. Molestation? Absolutely! But being scrutinized because your charge is sex with a minor and the real story is 15 yo has fake id and says they are 18 and consents. Then parents press charges and 20 yo is charged with sex with minor and is now labeled a predator, is wrong also. Most people probably have no idea there are predators living close and would not know if the news didn't broadcast it. Some are simple mistakes or falsely accused and now labeled for the rest of their lives. Its a shame!

No, nativejax, you are incorrect. I don't know how many registrants you know, but I know a significant number through some advocacy work and some church work that I do. Most are living in the communities; they are raising their families; they are law-abiding citizens--good parents, good neighbors, good employees and employers. And they are FORMER offenders. What is the worst thing you ever did? Stole something? Beat up someone? Cheated in a relationship? Do you do that anymore? If not, are you still a thief, a bully, an adulterer? Or are you a FORMER....whatever?

Actually I think they should have places like this set up & monitored, so they can keep them all accounted for & always know where they are. Which would not be close to any schools or churches or neighborhoods full of children. Then they would never have to worry about not being able to fuind somewhere to live & we wouldn't have to worry about living next door to them.

Here is reason #328 on why not to register. When a person offends somehow the public makes the connection between the offender who re-offended and all people who are similarly labeled. It is irrational to follow are registry law(s) that only get more punitive and restrictive even when one hasn't done a thing to warrent such punitive actions or restrictive laws. But the legislature will anyway. It is the nature of this political list that is used by the public to punish and has the PROVEN outcome of MORE raped kids. But let us face it. You all don't want a FREE country. You want, at your whim to determine punishments, sentences, and freedoms based upon your lack of expertise on punishments, sentences and freedoms. It is no wonder in Florida that since public notification, residency restrictions and other restrictions that MORE kids are being raped and killed than otherwise would have. You all should be very proud... But just don't ask ME to follow your laws. I REFUSE...

The state of Florida had established one of these "Group Homes" for ex-offenders in our neighborhood. They had several parolees that included violent offenders, convicted for armed robbery and such...along with a teen offender that had sexually molested a child. This "Group Home" was directly across the street from an elementary school and not even a block down the road from a Jr. High. By the way, the state never so much as warned us that this home and these offenders were being placed in our community and crime went up substantially once it was established...thank God it has finally closed. They failed to follow rules for supervision and the person responsible evidently squandered his funding to pay for the house...or perhaps wearied of the beating he suffered at the hands of his house-mates. Beware or signs in your locale that notify of the intent to seek rezoning!!!
