JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Action News went to A New Beginning Early Learning Center on Ansley Street in Jacksonville.

It's licensed to care for less than three dozen kids.

But on its most recent state inspection A New Beginning picked up a dozen violations.

Some of the problems there:

-The facility's outdoor play area was observed to pose a threat to the health, safety or well-being of the children due to the presence of hazardous items.

-The facility did not have a working corded telephone within the building in the event of a power outage.

-And attendance records did not include the time of each child's arrival and departure.

A New Beginning Early Learning Center needs to do better if it wants to get off the Missing The Mark list.

There are two centers doing an outstanding job.

They were inspected by DCF and had no violations.

Young World Child Care Inc. in Jacksonville and Cove Learning Academy in Green Cove Springs are both On The Mark.

Action News says, way to go!
