BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- Coast Guard Station Brunswick now has a new commander.

Senior Chief Petty Officer William G. Bennett III took charge after a ceremony Friday. He relieves Senior Chief Petty Officer Jeremy McConnell.

"This day is about Senior Chief McConnell, so I'd like to thank him," said Senior Chief Bennett III, officer in charge of Coast Guard Station Brunswick. "Senior Chief, thank you for leaving me with such a great station and outstanding crew."

Coast Guard Station Brunswick crew missions include: search and rescue, recreational boating safety, marine fisheries, marine environmental protection, and port security operations within the port of Brunswick. Coast Guard Station Brunswick is home to 30 active duty members, 18 reserve, and Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 10-10.
